Students who need unescorted access for solo operations or access to controlled ramp areas may need an airport-issued security badge. Kilroy Flight Academy must sponsor student badge holders and will start the sponsorship and badging process at the student’s first lesson. Blue Grass Airport processes badge applications through AirBadge and may require an application, fingerprinting, and a criminal-history records check. Final badge approval and issuance are controlled by Blue Grass Airport.
