First step
Use a discovery flight to make the path real.
A discovery flight is a practical introduction to flight instruction. You can see the aircraft, meet an instructor, ask cost and timeline questions, and decide whether continuing into regular lessons makes sense for your goals.
For many students, the first real decision is not which certificate to chase. It is whether they like the aircraft, the instructor fit, the schedule, and the routine of preparing for lessons.

Medical readiness
Most students pursuing a Private Pilot Certificate should understand FAA medical requirements before planning a training timeline. We can help you know what questions to ask before you spend heavily.
Aircraft renter insurance
Students and renters may need aircraft renter insurance before flying as a pilot or renter. Ask Kilroy what coverage and deductibles are required before scheduling a rental flight.
Student pilot certificate
Student pilots will need the right FAA paperwork before solo flight. The discovery and planning process is a good time to learn what that means.
Scheduling consistency
Progress depends on preparation, weather, aircraft availability, instructor availability, and how consistently a student can fly and study.
Financing
Flight training financing is handled by independent lenders. Review available providers, compare terms, and understand what each lender requires before you commit to a training budget.
