CFI and CFII Training in Kentucky

Flight-instructor training prepares a commercial pilot to teach aeronautical knowledge, flight skills, risk management, and sound decision-making. Kilroy Flight Academy can discuss CFI and CFII preparation based from Blue Grass Airport in Lexington.

CFI preparation

A CFI plan commonly includes:

CFII preparation

CFII training adds the ability to teach instrument knowledge and skills within the instructor’s privileges and ratings. It requires more than flying approaches: the applicant must be able to teach instrument scan, procedures, clearances, weather decisions, systems, risk management, and common errors.

Prerequisites

Before quoting a plan, Kilroy verifies certificates, ratings, medical or operating eligibility, knowledge tests, endorsements, recent experience, and logbook records.

Timeline and cost

Kilroy currently offers both CFI and CFII training. Instructor-certificate preparation varies substantially with the applicant’s knowledge, right-seat proficiency, lesson-plan readiness, recent experience, and checkride availability. Current aircraft and instructor rates are maintained on the Kilroy website and in Flight Circle; Kilroy confirms the appropriate aircraft, instructor, and schedule after an applicant review.

Instructor employment

Training with Kilroy does not guarantee an instructor position with Kilroy or another employer. Any employment discussion must remain separate from certificate-completion claims.
